FOURTH AND LAST WEEK IN COLOGNE
23.3.2026
I spent the morning calmly, before Miksu and I decided to visit Cologne's centre for the final time. I did some last-minute souvenir shopping and bought some nice things for myself. The time went by fast, and my afternoon was spent on the couch doing homework. I decided against going to the bar to listen to jazz, since it was pretty late already, and I was too tired to get going again. Overall, a nice day, but not much to write about.

I had a bit of a lazy day, though I did visit the Botanical Garden, Flora, and the Ludwig Museum. I loved the botanical garden. There were so many types of plants and flowers I didn't even know existed, and the building itself was also very showy. I took a lot of photos just because, and for inspiration for my upcoming projects.

My last day at work. I woke up early and ate my breakfast in peace. On Thursdays, my work starts at 14:30, so I wasn't in any rush to get things done. I packed everything I wasn't going to use anymore and did a bit of cleaning, so I wouldn't have to do much when I came home from work. My workday was nice. I stopped by a DM before work started and grabbed some snack bars for my coworkers. The day went by quite fast, and I got my mug! It turned out better than I had hoped. In the evening, I did the rest of my packing and cleaning before making dinner and sitting down for a while. I didn't go to bed till around 1:00, since I still had some things to do before bed, and the evening dragged on more than I thought.

Time to fly home! I woke up at 5:00 to my alarm, and even though I only got 4 hours of sleep, I felt nicely refreshed. I did some last-minute packing, making sure I had everything I needed with me. We checked when we had to leave the apartment to
arrive early at the airport. We cleaned the apartment a bit, and then we were off! Hauling our suitcases around was a big task, but we managed to catch a tram and then a train to the airport.
When the plane landed, we got our luggage at the baggage claim. It felt good to be back in Finland, actually, understanding what texts and people say feels great after a month of German and English. Seeing my parents, getting home, finally seeing my cat, and being able to sleep in my bed was awesome. I loved the trip, meeting new people and getting to experience the culture and living alone, but boy am I glad to be back home.
Thank you for reading my blog, whoever you are. :)
